Will Someone Think of the Children?!

I sure will!!! I just recently signed up for WaMoola for Schools. Everyone that banks at Washington Mutual should sign up, what do you got to lose. I picked my elementary school, K.R. Smith. So everyone sign up or tell someone to sign up. Lets help the kids of tomorrow.

I thought this image was hilarious.

A Question of Insanity

Is it considered insane if I crack myself up ... when I am all by myself?

Words From A Siren

Shirley Manson's response to hearing news of Nicky Hilton's annulment.

"Eeesh......it makes me so sad to think about all the seriously committed gay couples who are struggling and fighting for the right to enter into the institution of marriage yet meanwhile silly little girls like Nicky Hilton are able to make an absolute mockery of it and besides the odd raised eyebrow or two totally get away with it just because she's a hetrosexual. It's so unjust."

A moment Shirley Manson saw while in the airport. The image touched me.

"Flew back from LA yesterday and upon arriving at the airport in Madison there was an entire family standing at Arrivals with big signs to welcome a marine coming off active service in Iraq. After the marine had been greeted and kissed and cuddled and kissed and cuddled again and again the family group began to move towards the luggage carousel. The young marine (he must have been all of nineteen years old) with his father lagged behind the rest and when they were alone the father grabbed his son to his chest and without saying a word just held him there like that without saying a word. They were just standing in the middle of Dane County Airport clinging to one another as if their life depended on it and I can't begin to describe how moving a scene it was to observe.
In that one embrace was all the relief and pride, all the nights of anguish and anxiety, all the fear and dread that must overwhelm a family..."

Ludicrous Speed (rather price)

Ugly Duckling

I think I finally got the validation I needed. How many of you can say someone offered to buy you a round trip ticket to NY just so they could see you? Booty call? Yes but a $200 booty call.

Benefits of a "Sprained" Ankle

So I took a hard stumble while playing tennis yesterday, resulting in a "sprained" ankle. This one worst than the one I had three years ago. So now both my ankles will never be the same. Here are the pros and cons of having a sprang ankle.

Pros:
- Having the family wait on you hand and foot. Mwahaha
- Getting sympathy from nearly everyone, except Jack.

Cons:
- Getting ready for the day (showering, putting clothes on, getting out of bed)
- Getting around (into the car, getting to the filing cabinets to my work desk)
- Not being able to play tennis or go to the gym (resulting in lost of muscles and gain of fat)
- the PAIN

Happy Jack!!!

Boston Legal

Probably one of the sexiest men on TV, behold James Spader. I just finished watching Boston Legal, and Spader only adds to the appeal of the show. The dramedy is about a bunch of "nutty" lawyers and the cases they take. Spun off the hit drama, The Practice, this show is nothing like its predecessor. Like Scrubs to ER, just this show has more drama aspects. Tune in, you know I will and not just for James Spader (but he does get me hot). ABC, Sunday @ 10pm.

Internet Stalker

Kim has this recurring idea that I just might have an "internet stalker." What does an Internet stalker entail, I do not know. But lets take a minute and play with the idea.

So my "internet stalker" would constantly sit at home and be geeky in appearance. (Because who else would stalk someone from online). There he would use the various "link" sites available and find the information needed to potentially stalk me online. Information like my various screen names, my blog, and my emails. He will go on these sites and download my pictures. With the pictures, he photoshop himself next to me in various poses. Upon discovering my blog, he use the information provided there to know my daily routine. He find out my work schedule, he find out about my friends and their lives. What I've done, who I've done, and how I've done. All to get a little closer to me ... cyberly. Soon he will set up remote access to my computer (since he is a geek, he would have the know-how to hack into my computer) and rummage through my Recycling Bin. He filter through my various emails, documents, music, and of course porn. He would then leave text files on my desktop to let me know he was "on."

All this but never will he step outside to actually see me or "brush" against me at such places as the mall or club. Why? Because he is an "Internet stalker," he stalks online. Beware the "Internet Stalker!"

America's People

Here's an excerpt from an AP article on Kerry promoting stem cell research.

-Eighty-year-old Ruth Pollack of Portsmouth rose and interrupted Kerry to say that she suffers from primary pulmonary hypertension. "I know that there won't be any cure in time for me. I'm voting for you and everything you stand for."

Kerry told the woman he loved her and as she left the room with the assistance of a friend, Kerry told the crowd. "I've got to tell you, folks, when you hear somebody stand up and say to you, I support you, but it's too late for me, that's pretty tough."-

I was moved.

"Walk-n-Drop"in Fun Time

This weekend was full of activity. Here's a breakdown of events and insights.

Bday #1

On Thursday after work, I went to Todai to celebrate Mike's bday. When we got to the restaurant, I realized that people only go there when it is someone's bday. I noticed several people mention it was their bday when they were seated. It was a nice dinner, just three of us, Mike, Shin, and myself. The food, well what can I say about the food ... nothing really. Also I realized that Todai is a major rip off. 30 bucks for a dinner like that ... no thanks.

Big Face, Lisa Ly

On Friday afternoon, I had a lunch "date" with Lisa Ly. The female everyone suspected I had a thing for back in high school, but as you know now, that couldn't be. Before lunch, Lisa joined me in my errands, which mostly consisted of dropping by various banks (3 different ones). Off to Valley Fair/Santana Row, where we had no idea where we wanted to eat at. Finally I made the "executive decision" to eat at Krung Thai (this wouldn't be the last time I would be here this day). So we sat and talked, and while waiting for someone to take our order, I see Thu Ton, Linh, Kim, and Nick. The bastards decided it would be a good ideal to crash my "date" and be tailgaters. Can't a man get some privacy in San Jose, gosh. After finally swatting away the pests, Lisa and I continued to catch up. Squashing rumors, discussing futures, and making funny. After lunch we walked Santana Row, where I got my Keane CD and two new shirts. It was nice to catch up to Lisa, I think it is cool to have friends you see every once in awhile, it makes seeing them special. Memorable remarks from Lisa throughout the day would be:

"You know Nam ... back in high school you were cute, adorable, and one heck of a funny guy. You just seem like you weren't looking for a relationship. You put out this vibe."

"Something about you Nam always seem mischievous. Something about your smile, seems like you always thinking up something."

Hot Stuff's Bday Dinner (Bday #2)

After finally getting details on the dinner, it turned out we would be having dinner at Krung Thai (second time this day). We first met at Tham's house, where I raided her cabinet for porn ... didn't find any but what I did find was a picture of a hot fireman from England and a miniature cock ring. Finally Jack arrived and we were off to the restaurant. I truly enjoy the dinners Jack, Tham, Jennifer and myself have throughout our friendship. Something about how it is our thing, and no one else, it feels special. When it is just us four, I feel like I am in some special club that no one is allowed in and I like it. After dinner, we were off to the Deep, a new joint in Downtown San Jose. It is a restaurant during the day, and lounge club at night. This was a friends/family grand opening event, and because of Thu Ton we were in. Only Jack, Tham and I went, because Jennifer had to get up early for her WST the next morning. There we met up with Thu Ton, Lisa, Ky, Nick, Kim and Linh. The night was fun, talking, and dancing. I enjoyed myself. Probably would have been better if the place was more packed but it was an invite only event so oh well. That was Friday ... two more days to go.

Love Parade SF

Finally October 2nd came around, it was the first ever Love Parade in SF. In the end I must say I was disappointed, I don't know what I was expecting, but it sure wasn't that. But it was a nice day all together because I got to spend it with friends. Let's start from the beginning. The day started off at 12:30 when Nick and Kim arrived at my house. By 1:30, we were at Sylvia's house and on the N-line for our Love Parade day of fun. Our first destination for the day, Castro. Why? For "gay" pizza of course. Mmmm good pizza, even I am addicted. After pizza it was back to the N-line to the Parade. To describe the parade would be best summed up by Kim's comment. "It's just an open rave during the day." I was glad we saw Frenda and Herb there, it made the event better for me. I enjoy playing catch up, and it is always fun to see Frenda. After walking around, it was time to hop back on the N and then home. And that was the Love parade, it was an experience but I doubt I do it again (no love for the Love Parade).

On the TV front

Enough of my weekend, lets discuss various things I have seen. First off, Shaun of the Dead, one hilarious movie. You all got to watch it ... I give it my "DVD purchase" rating. My favorite part was when the main group meets up with another group of people. Freaking hilarious. Aww good times.

Since I am on the topic of UK media, I will move along to my latest addiction, The X-Factor. It has the sexy Simon Cowell, the rash Sharon Osbourne, and another judge you guys don't know, Louie (last name escapes me at this moment). I absolutely love this show, the commentary by the judges, the lack of talent, and the chemistry between the judges. And I just found out that they have a follow up show called the Xtra-Factor, and though it isn't good as the real show, the host of this one is fucking hot. I want myself an English man now. With these two show and the movie, I want to move to England.

So it is the new fall season and with that new shows. Here are a couple of shows I caught that I find particularly worth watching.

Veronica Mars: This is a cute show with a hint of mystery. I enjoyed the first episode, the main girl is cute. It is about a girl who was on top of the food chain at her high school, only to be at the bottom after the death of her best friend. She isn't rich like the rest of the school, but her dad use to be a sheriff (which made her "one of them") but after her dad accused her best friend's father of killing her own daughter, things feel apart for her and her dad. I enjoy shows with story and a back story to carry out throughout the show's life. UPN, Tuesday @ 9pm

Desperate Housewives: This dark comedy is like Sex and The City with Stepford Wives mixed in. Though it isn't raunchy as Sex, it does provide the humor that Sex did. This is about a 4 housewives and their secrets and lives in this town. Each of the four women are different, you got your single mother, your exhausted mother of 4, your married for money wife, and your uber perfect wife (like a Stepford wife). The back story to this series, starts off with one wife, friends to all 4 wives, killing herself and the secret she leaves behind. The show is narrated by the decease wife. I enjoyed this show and will make it part of my Sunday night lineup. ABC, Sunday @ 9pm.
