OMG He Killed Kenny

Though I've had a very unfortunate weekend, I had the fortunate  (some might say unfortunate) opportunity of meeting my friend Ken for the first time.

(That is Ken, apparently Ken killed himself)

So Ken and I started off our day at Mercado where we watched "The Borne Supremacy" followed by gay mecca which is Valley Fair.  I was late in meeting Ken, so I was quite perturbed with myself from the get go.  Lucky for me Ken did not mind my lateness and informed me that I am Asian.  Tsk tsk tsk Nam.

Our adventure in Valley Fair lead us to the food court, where I once again feasted on the teriyaki chicken combo at that one Japanese spot.  Ken drop by Sephora for some much needed eye shadow.  Walking around Valley Fair was nothing new, except this time I got to point out gay men with another gay man, testing our gaydar.  Oh the fun.  (FYI the eye shadow Ken bought was for his best friend in Canada, he called her then and there to asked what she wanted, because she mentioned she needed something from Sephora.  What a friend.)

Departing Valley Fair lead us to Daly City, the resting point of Ken's pad.  The drive there was quite scary, seeing how Ken doesn't know how to lead (that's right Ken you don't).  On top of that, the fog in Daly City is quite scary, reminiscent of the fog to LA.  I could barely see where I was going and on top of that following dimmed tail lights of an '91 Accord added to the complexity.  Once arriving at Ken's pad, we lounged and I got to play with Ken's dog, Stitch (awesome dog).  Come 11, and it was off to Cafe for some dancing with Ken and his BF.  This was my first visit to Cafe, and though I like the set up there, I did not care for the music selection.  The boys there are quite nice to look at though, so that is a plus.  Ken and his BF had friends who were at NTouch, so we headed over there to meet up with them.  I don't like NTouch very much, mostly because of the music and the crowd.  Not my type.  We were at NTouch for about an hour and it was off to Osha (a Thai restaurant).  I didn't have anything because Nam doesn't eat after 10, but the food smelled good.  Next time I will try it out.  Ken gave me some of his food, I tried it and boy was that spicy.  And Nam doesn't like spicy.  Ken's friends are a fun bunch, but I couldn't help feel a little out of place.   But being me, I stood strong and just observed their friendship.

The night ended with me crashing at Ken's place since I was extremely tired, and was in no mood to drive in the fog.  Woke up at 11am and left Ken's place at 12:30pm.

Thanks Ken for providing a promising day, it really got my mind off my troubles.  I am sure we will become good friends, hell I am writing this post for you.

Treasure Turns Restless Sleep to Non-existant Sleep

So unable to sleep, brings about watching bootleg copies of two movies, Resident Evil and Blade 2 (Of course fast-forward watching).  Upon completion I decide to look up the sequels for both films, seeing how they will be hitting theatres in the near future.  Looking up Blade: Trinity brought up this piece of treasure.

HOT DAMN!!!!  I always knew Ryan Reynolds was hot, but damn not that hot.  Now I can't sleep because I got Ryan Reynolds in the head.

Maximum Workout!!!

So the trip to Yosemite (Yo-Sem-Mite) was quite lovely, other than the fact I dropped my wallet, and could not find the "closest park ranger office."  Instead of giving a whole summary, I will use bullets.

- Pak's and Nga's friendship is quite odd, they bicker like a couple, yet describe it as funny when compared to when real couples bicker.  To me it is just as the same.

- I shouldn't have slept on the green blanket because it made my back itchy.  Boy did I look the fool when I discovered that you were suppose to untuck the green blanket and sleep on the white sheets.

- Jennifer Le rocks!!! I enjoy her company and she makes trips fun.  I think it is the fact she is so approving of my lifestyle.

- Dave is one cool guy, I would like to get to know him better.  Good navigator because he can read while the car is in motion.

- The hike to Nevada Falls was quite the workout.  MAXIMUM WORKOUT!!!!

Thanks guys for inviting me, I had a blast!!!

Morning Breakfast

Eggs:  Eggs represents my friend Kim.   Why?  Because within her lies the egg of my future child(j/k).  Eggs can be prepared in many various ways; sunny side up, scrambled, over easy or boiled.  Much like Kim, she, too, can be many things; reliable, strong, intelligent, quirky, and loving.  Much like Eggs, everyone likes their Kim a different way, but they all eat her up like nothing.   She provides the essentials in life we all need, though if over indulged, it can provide some health problems.

Pancakes:  Pancakes represents my best friend Jack.  When I think of pancakes I think of Jack and I's morning trips to the car dealership for our quarterly maintenance.  How does that remind me of pancakes you ask?  After we drop off our cars, we normally head over to IHOP for some good pancake fun.  It is these precious moments I spend with Jack, that I look forward to.  Just one on one time with Jack, our thing.

Maple Syrup:  Maple Syrup represents all my other friends I love.  Like they say, everything else is just gravy.    You guys are just as essential to the breakfast as the eggs and pancakes.  You guys just make life more fun and sweet.

Now the point of this post.

"Got my eggs and my pancakes too
Got my maple syrup, everything but you."

You:  Who are you? And where are you?

Try not to decipher this post as one of loneliness, because it really isn't.  I just wish I was in a relationship too, just so Jack, Kim and I (and others) could all go do some kind of relationship group activity.  That is all, just wanting someone so I can spend quality time with my best friends without feeling like a third wheel.

A Song For Every Emotion/Feeling

"It isn't easy, hearing what they say
Sometimes you've got to take a leap of faith."

"Laugh it off, let it go
And come tomorrow it will seem
So yesterday."

“It's better to live and to act like a fool
Than to fool yourself into not really living at all.”

and finally...

"It's really love, if you follow it forever,
Would you wander for me?
Even though you think I am lost and you know better,
Would you wander for me?"
(Nam sheds a tear, hopeless romantic side)

The Musically Inclined

Friday night was spent with the bearer of the voice of an angel.

If you cannot tell who that is, it is no other than Sarah McLachlan. It was a wonderous concert, filled with a gorgeous set, and songs from an angel. Hi-lights included performances of Angel, Building A Mystery, and Ice Cream (yay!!!). I want to see it (and her "kick-ass" boots) again, I would consider this to be one of my favorite concerts to date.

In other music news, today I got the new Lisa Loeb album (currently on track 6). Very good album so far with "I Control The Sun" being the best so far.

*Added Sarah McLachlan - Ice Cream, Lisa Loeb - Fools Like Me (single from new album), and Lisa Loeb - I Control The Sun to my radio.blog.

Dirrty? I Think Not

Behold Christina, she may be dirty and come off as a snob, but she still is beautiful.
