So it has nearly been a month since I last updated this thing. All you have heard about my worst week of the year last week, so there is no need to go into that. What I am here to write about is the topic of Gay Marriages. As of recently, this topic has gotten some media coverage, and for once in my life I actually have a passionate stand on an issue. As I have lived life I always assumed I would never become passionate about anything, or pick a stand and tell people what my stand is. But something about gay marriages hits my heart and I feel I need to express my feelings towards all this chatter about should it be banned or not. So this is how I feel.

When it comes to gay marriages, I really don't care for the terminology of "marriage." I don't need the world to know I have a husband or even need a piece of paper saying that my lover is my husband. But what I do need is the rights given to a man and women when they do marry. Some of you may say well that is what some legislatures are trying to do, providing rights for gays through civil unions and leaving marriage between a man and a women. That is correct but what I feel is unnecessary is to put an amendment into the Constitution proclaiming that a marriage is solely for a man and a women. I just feel there is no need to single out a group. When I read about all this news on how gays are getting married in San Francisco, it makes me happy. I guess in the end what really angers me is the fact there are people out there willing to spread that word that gays and straights are not the same. That they are willing to put into our Constitution a clause to shows there are some people who are different in this nation of "equality."

Well that is my non-passionate view of gay marriages and some of you may think that marriages is just for a women and a man, and I respect your opinion, but you must understand that I live as a gay man everyday. And this is a burden you guys will never experience or maybe even understand. All I can ask from you is that you respect my opinion as I respect yours.
