OMG He Killed Kenny
Though I've had a very unfortunate weekend, I had the fortunate (some might say unfortunate) opportunity of meeting my friend Ken for the first time.
(That is Ken, apparently Ken killed himself)
So Ken and I started off our day at Mercado where we watched "The Borne Supremacy" followed by gay mecca which is Valley Fair. I was late in meeting Ken, so I was quite perturbed with myself from the get go. Lucky for me Ken did not mind my lateness and informed me that I am Asian. Tsk tsk tsk Nam.
Our adventure in Valley Fair lead us to the food court, where I once again feasted on the teriyaki chicken combo at that one Japanese spot. Ken drop by Sephora for some much needed eye shadow. Walking around Valley Fair was nothing new, except this time I got to point out gay men with another gay man, testing our gaydar. Oh the fun. (FYI the eye shadow Ken bought was for his best friend in Canada, he called her then and there to asked what she wanted, because she mentioned she needed something from Sephora. What a friend.)
Departing Valley Fair lead us to Daly City, the resting point of Ken's pad. The drive there was quite scary, seeing how Ken doesn't know how to lead (that's right Ken you don't). On top of that, the fog in Daly City is quite scary, reminiscent of the fog to LA. I could barely see where I was going and on top of that following dimmed tail lights of an '91 Accord added to the complexity. Once arriving at Ken's pad, we lounged and I got to play with Ken's dog, Stitch (awesome dog). Come 11, and it was off to Cafe for some dancing with Ken and his BF. This was my first visit to Cafe, and though I like the set up there, I did not care for the music selection. The boys there are quite nice to look at though, so that is a plus. Ken and his BF had friends who were at NTouch, so we headed over there to meet up with them. I don't like NTouch very much, mostly because of the music and the crowd. Not my type. We were at NTouch for about an hour and it was off to Osha (a Thai restaurant). I didn't have anything because Nam doesn't eat after 10, but the food smelled good. Next time I will try it out. Ken gave me some of his food, I tried it and boy was that spicy. And Nam doesn't like spicy. Ken's friends are a fun bunch, but I couldn't help feel a little out of place. But being me, I stood strong and just observed their friendship.
The night ended with me crashing at Ken's place since I was extremely tired, and was in no mood to drive in the fog. Woke up at 11am and left Ken's place at 12:30pm.
Thanks Ken for providing a promising day, it really got my mind off my troubles. I am sure we will become good friends, hell I am writing this post for you.
